Already as a child I was interested in movies and their creation. Starting with shaky Lego
stop-motion experiments to choppy animations in the 3D graphics software Blender. This interest
continued to grow over the four years at the Lazi-Akademie, whereby I discovered visual effects as
my passion from the 4th semester onwards and therefore focused on it in my further education. My
final project gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into this area, gain valuable experience and
make my first contact with the industry.
My dream, like that of many, is to see my name on the big screen. My focus is not on personal
success, but rather the hope of one day being part of a team that can take viewers away from reality
through immersive visual effects. During the production of my graduation film “Twins”, I was able to
demonstrate my great ability to
learn quickly, whether it was learning Nuke and Unreal Engine, which were new to me, developing and
optimizing pipelines, or learning compositing from scratch. This experience enabled me to adapt
quickly to different requirements and always find efficient solutions. An integral part of this
experience was also developing a very solid stress resistance. This was particularly evident when
the only available filming location initially planned was canceled shortly before the start of
filming. In this stressful situation, we managed to quickly reschedule and move everything to green
screen. Discipline, which I developed through regular weight training, was extremely important. It
enabled me to tackle less creative tasks with the necessary diligence later on in post-production.
Whether it's rotoscoping or debugging, I make sure to approach every task with care. Overall, I
firmly believe that my skills and experience will play an enriching role not only during my
graduation film, but also in future projects. The success of the project is underlined by the Lazi
Award, which recognizes the best graduation film, which I received for “Twins” at the Lazi Akademie
showcase. Another highlight of my experience so far was that the short film “Colors”, where I was
responsible for the visual effects, won the "Baden-Württemberg Jugendfilm Award" in the category
“Best
Visual Effects” .
My love for film already began in my childhood, creating stop-motion films and always dreaming
of
looking behind the scenes. Every day I dive deeper into the film industry, my enthusiasm and
dedication grows and I look forward to further deepening my passion in future projects. My
flexibility, stress resistance and discipline are a solid foundation for successfully tackling
creative challenges and achieving high-quality results.
